SEEKING A PART-TIME STAFF MEMBER TO WORK WITH SENIORS AND WITH INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING DEMENTIA OR ALZHEIMER’S.
Seniors’ Lighthouse Program Leader (part-time position): responsible for organizing, planning and implementing the Seniors’ Lighthouse Program (SLP) at Tonari Gumi to support vulnerable and isolated seniors, in particular those suffering from physical and mental challenges such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. The SLP leader will coordinate with the leader of the “Iki Iki” program being implemented by the Nikkei Seniors Health Care and Housing Society to ensure the broadest coverage of vulnerable seniors within the community. The SLP will be conducted on Wednesdays and the SLP Leader will need to be available on Wednesdays and up to two (2) additional days during the week for a total of 3 days per week. Experience in working with seniors and with individuals experiencing dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is important. Must be fully bilingual in Japanese and English, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, have basic computer skills and a valid B.C. driver’s license.
