Tonari Gumi is currently seeking a full-time Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing, scheduling and coordinating all activities and programs at Tonari Gumi. The Program Coordinator will work with the Executive Director and the rest of the staff and volunteers as part of the Tonari Gumi leadership team to ensure that programs and activities are organized and coordinated with the volunteers necessary to sustain the programs being scheduled. The Program Coordinator will work with others to maintain an up-to-date inventory of volunteers, train volunteers and encourage new volunteers to join. Must be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Residency Status with above average computer skills, driving ability, and strong communication and people skills in both Japanese and English. Experience in working with seniors and volunteers a definite plus. Some flexibility to work weekends and evenings is also required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
