Leslay Fugeta
I am the son of Hawley and Mytssu Fugeta of Kaleden (Penticton) BC who are long time supporters of the Tonari Gumi. The majority of my career has been in resort management; and most recently served on the VANOC planning and operations team for the 2010 Winter and Paralympic Games. My mother’s parents (Ichiji and Sugaye Sasaki) were active residents and contributors to Vancouver’s Powell Street community; and via the Tonari Gumi, I look forward to being a positive representative and contributor to our community as well.

Together with Karla Mukai and Utako Ueki who were re-elected a new two year term and returning directors, Derek Iwanaka, Motoko Reed, Joe Greenholtz, Ken Akino, Joji Kumagai, Kozue Matsumoto, Yuri Wong and Patrick Li, we are looking forward to a very active and energetic Board. Congratulations to our new Directors and our appreciation to all of the members who took the time to support Tonari Gumi and its work by attending our AGM. Our attendance was one of the largest is some time and is an indication of the strong community support that exists for Tonari Gumi and its activities and services.
