On Tuesday, Sept. 16 some 24 of our seniors participated in an Outreach Activity to an apple farm in Abbotsford and the Honey Bee Centre in Surrey. Under clear blue skies, it was a perfect day for an outing and the seniors had an enjoyable time. In particular, for a number, it was their first experience at picking fresh apples from the tree.
Particularly sweet were the Fuji and Gala apples. After enjoying a delicious bento lunch the group traveled to the Honey Bee Centre in Surrey where they learned about nature’s natural sweetener and were able to taste test a variety of different flavours. It was definitely a sweet experience. Special thanks to the Bonsor 55+ association for the use of their bus and driver.
