TG Reopen Announcement  (July, 2021) / 隣組開館のご案内(2021年7月版)

To the Tonari Gumi community:

With the announcement of Step 3 of the BC’s Restart Plan announced regarding re-opening, Tonari Gumi has updated the COVID-19-related guidelines concerning the centre and programs.

The following is in effect until Step 4 (earliest scheduled start date September 7, 2021) or until further notice:

Tonari Gumi is now open on drop-in basis Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during which the front door will be accessible and not be locked. TG patrons are welcome to come into the centre to borrow books from the library, browse the store, buy bento/manju etc. Select volunteer activities are ongoing where the safety of the volunteers and the staff may be maintained. Tonari Gumi has been in communication with program participants and instructors regarding in-person programs and club activities, and the appropriate time to resume will be determined individually.

Anyone entering the Tonari Gumi centre, including staff, volunteers, and members, are asked to take the following steps to ensure everyone’s safety:

  • Stay home if you or anyone in your family feels sick
  • Write down your name and phone number at the entrance for contact tracing purposes
  • Face coverings/masks are required while in the centre
  • Maintain physical distancing of 2m while in the centre

These measures are subject to change based on Vancouver Coastal Health, WorkSafe BC, Province of BC guidelines. Tonari Gumi will reassess its COVID-19 protocol when new announcements are made.

  • 病気(家族も含む)の際は家にいましょう
  • 入口で名前と連絡先を記入
  • 館内ではマスクを着用
  • 館内では2mの物理的距離を維持
